Decided to dive headfirst into Deadpool after hearing so much about this unique character.This is a Great book... in fact i bought all the volumes and have enjoyed every one of them.However, Amazon reports that this book is usually bought with 'Deadpool, Vol. 2: Dark Reign'....Do not buy 'Deadpool, Vol. 2: Dark Reign' with this version of 'Deadpool volume 1' , as it's already included as part of the story-line.Why they would not in some way differentiate between the two versions of volume 1, I don't understand.I'm also shocked that I'm the first to write anything about this, if others have been buying these recommended volumes together.In conclusion:Great book, great series, I recommend it.Just don't buy 'Deadpool, Vol. 2: Dark Reign', with this version of Deadpool Volume 1.

Writer Daniel Way captures Deadpool's fractured personality with pitch-perfect madness. The voices assert themselves and Deadpool talks to them, much to the consternation and confusion of anyone else in the room. Deadpool's brain is overflowing with pop culture and 1,001 ways to kill a person: the result is the funniest action series in comics.No hesitation about this recommendation: this is a great series.

I purchased the Kindle edition, and it read great, even in black and white. I have only heard of Deadpool through others and his brief appearance in a Wolverine film. I was curious to find out more about him, and I was not disappointed. This is a great introduction to the character. He is unique in his wit and humor and his ability to discuss with the narrator. I love that he is a character that realizes he is in a comic book! I have never laughed so much reading a comic before, and I will be buying the next volume.

I've got to say, I love Deadpool and I love this collection, but there is one glaring flaw.Recently the collection got re-released with even more additions to the story, so it is a more complete collection.www.amazon.com/Deadpool-Daniel-Way-Complete-Collection/dp/0785185321However, they still lack a hardcover volume of it, sadly.I'd still say this is a fun investment, all things considered, just a pain to have to go hunting for the sake of collecting missing tidbits!

First off, I'll preface by saying that I've only recently gotten into comics and even more recently Deadpool specifically. That being said, I enjoyed this comic immensely. I've read alot of good comics since I started (Ultimates, Walking Dead, Astonishing X-men, Punisher MAX,) but this is the first one I've wanted to re-read only a day after reading it the first time.As I said, I'm new to Deadpool, however I've also read the first volume of Cable and Deadpool and will say that the portrayal of Deadpool in the two comics is slightly different. In Cable and Deadpool Vol1, Deadpool is that "wild and crazy guy" who loves to make wisecracks and is a little childish/naive (despite being very skilled/intelligent) compared to the stoic Cable. The Deadpool in "Cable and Deadpool" comes off to me as being very eccentric, but still has his sanity (even if just barely). The Deadpool in this comic however is very clearly insane. He is frequently hallucinating and talking to himself. Some would say this "off the deep end" version of Deadpool is "too silly," but I think it's great. This comic may not appeal to people who've been brought up with a slightly more serious version of Deadpool, but I think its his complete insanity coupled with his skill/badassery in this that makes him stand out as a more interesting character than just a wisecracking ninja. Again, I'm new to Deadpool and am not familiar with his level of sanity throughout Cable and Deadpool and his portrayal by earlier writers, but simply from Cable and Deadpool Vol 1 and the comments of other Deadpool fans, I'm lead to believe that this version of Deadpool is significantly "crazier/sillier" than others.Lastly, it should be noted that this volume contains two arcs, one secret invasion arc and one zombie (regular zombies, not super hero Marvel Zombies) arc. Both are great at showcasing how skilled Deadpool is despite being utterly insane. I fully recommend this comic to Deadpool fans new and old alike.

Not bad, but I'm guessing I'm just not a Deadpool fan. It seems like the IDEA of Deadpool (cocky, brash, psychotic, and meta), but I didn't really get into these comics much. There wasn't enough meat to the story for me, especially at the rather high price on Kindle. It's also possible that I've been away from comics too long, and I'm just an old fogey now. Either way, this collection didn't do it for me.

Secret Invasion was- like most other Deadpool compilations- a fun and interesting read. The merc with a mouth is at it again, and with Deadpool there is so much to pull from that writing for him (while I am sure, at times, can be difficult) has to be fun and free flowing for a good writer. Pick this up if you like Deadpool. And if you are not familiar with the character and want to get a peep into the world of Deadpool, this is definitely a good insight comic!

In addition, he is the founder of and directs the North Central College Dispute Resolution Center. He graduated from Trinity College with a B.A. in philosophy, magna cum laude. Cavenagh's J.D. is from DePaul University College of Law. He is the co-author of the book ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION FOR BUSINESS by West Publishing Company and has been widely published in a variety of professional journals including Mediation Quarterly. Thomas D. Cavenagh is the recipient of the North Central College Dissenger Prize for Faculty Scholarship and the North Central College Clarence F. Dissenger Distinguished Teaching and Service Award. 7/30/18 Janice Hisle`s new book “SUBMERGED”.Is an enthralling true story about Ryan Widmer, his drowned bride and the justice system.It is almost as though Janice was a fly on the wall, observing the unfolding of this suburban tragedy.You are taken into the homes, thoughts, hearts and the jury room. It is well written with humanism and poignancy. This is a story like no other.No motive and a singular lack of concrete evidence.Speculation and conjecture abound.In the final analysis the jury was in fact unable to discern how and why Sarah drowned.What is hardly mentioned is a medical condition called Narcolepsy/catalepsy, a condition in many instances escaping medicaldiagnosis.Suddenly without warning the individual fully conscious , becomes totally paralyzed and falls down unable to protect themselves because of intense muscular weaknessDr. Michael Balko in trial number three emphasized in sworn testimony that an individual with a history of headaches andsleepiness as observed by Sarah’s friends, must have the coroner perform additional tests on the hypothalamus,to rule out a seizure disorder and narcolepsy/catalepsyThis was not done. I ordered this book because I lived in Cincinnati when this happened and was always fascinated with the case. The book is extremely well-written and I recommend it highly to fans of true-crime as well as to those concerned with criminal justice. The writer’s access to information from the start did not bias her views and aided in her detailed examination of the facts of this story. I hope that by keeping it in the public’s attention more might conclude, as I have, that there was shoddy police work, a quick jump to a single conclusion and injustice done in this case. This man needs saved.Please note that the only negative I have is that print in the paperback is very small. If you have any issues with your vision, I would suggest purchasing the Kindle version so that you can adjust the font.

As a Cincinnatian, I was captivated 10 years ago by the Ryan Widmer bathtub-drowning indictment and all three of his subsequent trials. Like many observers, I was conflicted throughout, vacillating between innocence and guilt, never being convinced of either. But, like most observers, I hungered for the truth – or at least more details about the how and why of this fascinating case. So when I heard that Janice Hisle had written this book, I couldn't wait to read it. Not just because of the subject matter. But because I knew that no one could write a more thorough and objective analysis of the Sarah Widmer bathtub drowning case than Hisle, a former Cincinnati Enquirer reporter who covered every day of the three trials and countless appeals since. As a disclaimer, I should note that I once worked as one of Hisle's editors at the Enquirer. But as such, I can vouch for her objectivity, accuracy, and sheer professionalism in this case and every case she wrote about as a news reporter.I knew this book would be outstanding, and I wasn't disappointed. Once I'd started, I could not stop reading until I'd devoured it. This book reads about as fast and as gripping as any murder mystery or true-crime book I've ever read. Hisle has taken an extremely complex case, with more twists and turns than any fiction writer could conjure, and turned thousands of pages of documents, trial testimony and interview notes into a real-life thriller. But while I was excited to read her take on the case, I still feared it would leave me with that same sense of ambiguity and frustration that the trials had left, since no one but Ryan Widmer really knows what happened that night in the Widmer bathroom, and he wasn't talking. Until now.Hisle has incorporated hours upon hours of interviews with Ryan in her book, in addition to information she unearthed that has never been revealed before, interviews with jurors, and a wealth of details the jurors were not allowed to hear at trial.Whatever you think about Ryan Widmer's guilt or innocence, you need to read this book. And be sure to read to the end, because Hisle's final disclosures will clarify – for the first time – the hows and whys of what happened that fateful night in that tiny bathroom.

I was born in the greater Cincinnati area. I followed all three trials for Ryan Widmer. This case has so many ” The truth is stranger than fiction ” like details. I went back and forth a couple of times. I listened to all expert witnesses on both the prosecution and the defense’s side, read as reporters typed live updates on Facebook from the court room & watch many news reports. As new information came available, I began to believe that there was much more to this case & story. Janice Hisle captured all important highlights and details of this case without bias. This case defines reasonable doubt in my opinion. Read it and decide for yourself. You won't be sorry that you bought and read this book. I just finished the book and I have to say that Janice provided the most objective, fair, balanced and informed look at this case than any other media resource I’ve seen. I received the book just yesterday and found that I couldn’t put it down. An amazing book, that I highly recommend.

Nice book and it will come in handy going to Nassau for the 2nd time. Lots of good info, definitely. The author asks for suggestions so here goes:1) we are staying at Atlantis at the Reef Tower, and this tower is missing from the list for Atlantis Hotel Accommodations.2) maps of where all these places are would help. I have google maps on my iPhone and I was able to punch in the shops, beaches, or restaurants in the search box and it pullled up just fine. Without this, I would be lost with just the book.3) where do you go to take a boat ride? Cruises have these options; not sure how to get to Blue Lagoon if you stay on island.4) more pictures would be cool5) maybe a section on "what not to do" or places to avoidGreat book. We visited last year by cruise but did not like the 4-5 hours we had on the island so we decided to fly in this year for several days.

This summer I’m making a trip to Havana, and then taking a jaunt to the Bahamas for a week. I bought Dustin’s other travel guide and thought I’d give this one a shot too, as they’re both pretty cheap. This book is even better than the Cuba one, as it seems to have a lot more information. I like the sections on the beaches, and know that I’ll be visiting some of the locally owned restaurants while I’m there.

This is a 52 page book with lots of blank space and could have been written by a high school senior. It provides no unique information. Save the money for a rum drink and surf the web.

I was disappointed in this purchase. The information provided is general and did not help with our vacation planning. I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because it does provide some information. A larger guide which includes all of the Bahamas would provide better information on Nassau.

I go to Nassau every few years and am always looking to see what's new there. With the launch of the Baha Mar Resort, there's going to be a lot more stuff opening up, and this guide gives you some good off the beaten path spots to stay. The book's a bit short, but I recommend it for putting on your phone or iPad, as it's easy to navigate to good spots to find spots to each, relax, or drink at.

It is not a very in depth book. Has some nice tips but a bit lacking. You can get tons more info on the net for free.

You are better off using info from TripAdvisor and Google. Even thoughe the book was cheap, i find it full of absolutely worthless information you can get for free.I would say you get what you pay for, but in this instance you get far far less.

Information was too brief. I didn't like that it had no pictures.
