I love the manga and the anime. This volume is good just like the rest.

This book is extremely inappropriate for a younger dragon ball fan. Maybe it was our mistake but we bought for our 9 year old and we’re pretty appalled at the content considering the show has none of the trash that is in the book. Parents be aware of the strong sexual content including nudity

When I opened the package the cover was folded in half. I was very upset to see this. Also, this book does not have colored pics. It arrived on time and I like that this version doesn't have a lot of Japanese words one must translate.

Daddy's Virgin is a fresh and creative take on a daddy Dom story.At the core of it,it is a well written love story with a few twiststhrown in to add excitement.The storyline is unique as it is setin a dystopian world where the people of the cleansed liveunder a dome in a sterile, elite city.On her 18 th birthday,SecretDawson set out to prove that she could and would breach thewalls of the dome.Unfortunately for Secret,she was caught andsent to the medical facility.This is she meets Kaigen Le Blanc forthe first time and it did not go well for Secret and her mouth.Herbad temper sees her being punished until she is sobbing.Kaigen buyssecret and she will be his little girl.Secret had a hard time submittingto Kaigen and often found herself sore and embarrassed.This was a fast paced story,a quick lively read that will certainly captureyour attention.The chemistry between Secret and Kaigen sizzled at timesas Secret learned to trust Kaigen to care and support her needs.This storystarted with a bang and the intensity continued throughout the book.Megan Michaels never fails to let her readers down and excelled againwith Daddy's Virgin.

This rather startling story takes place in a future USA that has had to separate into four distinct segments due not to race, sex, or religion, but rather due to the population adhering to strict social norms and practices. This catastrophic re-alignment of the country came about because of disrespect and violence caused by the influences of politics, social media and the internet. Sound plausible? Given the current state of affairs in the USA, it may not be too unrealistic. The story itself is of a young 18 year old girl (Secret) who ventures in to a different habitat, one that is deemed to be the purest and best, to find out for herself. She is immediately captured and delivered to the authorities for monitoring and training. However, there was another individual (Kaigen LeBlanc, part of The Elite, with high status and security clearance) who was waiting for just such a young lady and he made private arrangements to buy her, own her and train her! If this all sounds a little complicated, it is, but in a good way that really makes the story both plausible and riveting. Of course his ownership and training of her involves frequent and at times extremely harsh punishments, but there are also moments of tenderness for his baby girl / pet. As their relationship develops, a few twists and turns in the form of both friends and foes, test the mettle of the couple but also helps them to further their collaboration. I did find Kaigen’s treatment of Secret to be overly harsh and extreme in the beginning, but the end does tend to justify the means. As I said before, a complicated story but one chalk full of thought provoking scenes with more than enough punishments and erotic sex to keep the reader totally engaged. I ended up really liking this book and feel it is fully deserving of a 5 Star rating.I received this book as an advance review copy from the publisher.

I love Seirra and Kaigen! Seirra was the perfect mixture of stubborn, independent but also learned to submit. (With the help of Kaigan and his hand if course. ;). I love how Kaigen was a strong Alpha male, but could see Seirra’s potential. He still saw the amazing independent lady she could be.The banter, love and intimacy between them was off the charts. Great Book!!!!!

What a way to celebrate your 18th birthday! Sold! Sex! And becoming a Daddy's girl (and finding out you love it). Ms. Michael's is the queen of Daddy/Little romances and this one may be her best yet. Left me with lots of people I want to meet in hopeful future sequels.

I was held spell-bound by this dark, edgy futuristic tale of Kaigen LeBlanc and Sierra Dawson. The story takes place after the great war, the world has changed, and even what had been known as the United States of America is now divided into four sectors. The Cleansed (who live under The Dome) The Invincibles, The Aberration, and The Tormented.The plot will have Sierra leaving her sector, The Invincibles and traveling to The Cleansed where she is captured for trespassing and taken to a medical unit. Dr. Strong will contact Kaigen who is looking for a certain type of female, and Sierra is a match. He wants his own little girl—one who he can take care of, punish as he wants, and one who can produce children for him. What a joy to learn Sierra is a virgin. He refuses to play their game for training and will pay dearly to own her. He is a dominant man who has sadistic tendencies and enjoys punishing her.“Upon purchase, which I will be doing forthwith, you will become my property, my woman, my broodmare, but more important, my cherished girl. I will own you, and thereby show you my love, discipline, care, and devotion. You will need or want for nothing.”The story is full of dominance and submission—even if it comes by force. It will include control, humiliation, exhibition, forced submission, power exchange, and explicit sex. There are several intense and even harsh scenes as Kaigen controls and punishes Sierra. The story isn’t just about their D/s relationship, but also about the people, the changes over several hundred years, along with attitudes and even the future.“Tears of submission are so sweet and tears of remorse although bitter to the owner are even sweeter to the master. It does something which few other books on education do: it looks critically at how educational institutions are related to the broader social system we live under--capitalism. It looks at how schools, like other basic social institutions in capitalist society, create favourable conditions for the accumulation of profit.Think about it: the lower wages are, the higher the profits for employers. The more technically skilled workers are, the higher profits are. The more punctual, obedient and docile workers are---the higher the profits. Thus, an education system structured around the needs of capitalism tends to create a schooling experience that shuns creativity, critical thinking, and individual development. Moreover, it is often in school that we learn to respect authority, believe in the system we live under, and accept class inequalities as natural.In this painstakingly researched book, Bowles and Gintis detail how this process works. They argue that schools under capitalism tend to foster types of "personal development compatible with the relationships of dominance and subordinacy in the economic sphere... while creating surpluses of skilled labor sufficiently extensive to render effective the prime weapon of the employer in disciplining labor--the power to hire and fire."This is a serious book, written by professional economists. It is a tour de force. It is a must-read, in my opinion, for anyone who wants to think critically about how social systems and educational institutions are related.

This book is a reprint of the 1976 edition, with a new preface from Bowles and Gintis for the 2011 reprint edition.In 1988 a collection of articles were published titled _Bowles and Gintis Revisted_, mainly these were sympathetic critics of Bowles and Gintis and their reactions to the criticisms. This is important complementary text to be read after reading _Schooling in Capitalist America_.What is amazing about the 1976 reprint is how relevant and urgent it remains today. It is a very timely and important reprint of the classical reference for sociology of education literature. Its primary argument is that the single best predictor of a child's economic future is not educational achievement, IQ, or even performance in school, but simply the economic status of the child's parents.The primary arguments Bowles and Gintis made in 1976 have held up remarkably well, even though the statistical data they employed was far less sophisticated then it is today. This is social theory at its very best!The primary arguments are:(1) Inequality and types of personal development are largely determined by markets, property, and power relations, and less to do with what happens in schooling.(2) Education does not add to or subtract from the overall degree of inequality and repressive personal development. Rather, schooling "facilities" "a smooth integration of youth into the labor force." (a) Schools legitimate inequality. (b) Schools foster personal development compatible with dominance and subordination typical in the American work place. (c) Schools create surpluses of skilled labor; schools do not overcome unemployment at an aggregate (or national) level.(3) There is a very strong "Correspondence" between social relations in the work place and social relations of the educational system.(4) American schooling system primarily serves stability of the profit system and politics. It does not, however, accomplish this hitchless.(5) Education reform will always be incomplete unless there is a corresponding transformation in the work place, labor markets _and_ class structure of society.Primary argument (3), or the Correspondence Theory of Bowles and Gintis has received the widest acclaim, and is probably even stronger today than it was in 1976. This is the basis of all sociology of education. Explaining how this correspondence between work place relationships and educational system relations is not a simple matter. Bowles and Gintis demonstrate the correspondence rather than offering a full explanation of how the correspondence functions empirically. Indeed they have been accused of illicit functionalism. This seems to me a misreading, and conflating a demonstration of the correspondence for a full explanation which was not their intention.Accusations of an illicit functionalism also emerge with primary argument (4). But once again this seems a misreading. Bowels and Gintis do indeed argue the school system tends to stabilize the profit system, however, it does not do so in any straight forward way. Thus, critical thinking, understanding, personal and social enlightenment can certainly produce young minds resistant to profit relations. The 2007-8 crisis has produced a critical consciousness, books like _Schooling in Capitalist America_ offer a particular depth to the social problems of contemporary America.Also making the book timely and relevant is the call for "educating the nation out of crisis" (Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan, for example uses such language). This is to confuse the cause and effect relationship between poverty and education. Real reform requires corresponding reforms in the work place, labor markets, and social class structure. WOW!! This is a fantastic book in two parts. The first is an art book, and the art is inspiring, wonderful, and amazing. Julieanne Kost has an incredible and impeccable eye for creating amazing art pieces. The second half of the book is a how-to, helping photographers with the creative process of personal projects. If you're an artist, especially a photographer, this is a must-buy. I can't say enough wonderful things about this book.

Very interesting and informative for Lightroom because I'm a beginner. I don't really share the attraction she has for the subject but that was more than compensated for by the practical lessons.

The author takes you through the process of developing and completing a photography project by walking you through the development of her own. Her suggestions, along with her extensive guidance in using Lightroom and Photoshop are extremely helpful and encouraging.

This is a unique and thoroughly engaging book that causes you to look at photography in a new way. From her body of work shot as a passenger in moving vehicles, Julieanne provides examples, encouragement to do projects and tips on how to create looks in Photoshop and Lightroom. From people just starting out with their photography hobby to seasoned professionals--there are many nuggets of inspiration and ideas in this entertaining new book. You'll gain a creative boost with this book.

This is a very informative and complete book. Having said that, let me add that it also is confusing at first. Take the title, Passenger Seat, for example. Additionally, if you scan the pages in the first quarter of the book you will find blurry photos on the left-hand page and text on the right-hand page. The next quarter is a series of blurry photos on each page. What you have is a book length dissertation on how to put together a photo project and how to take it through Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop all the way to print-ing or creating a book or a slide show, whatever your project terminus might be. The name of the book is derived from the fact that the author took thousands of photos from the passenger seat of a moving car on a journey through the northeastern United States, hence the blurry photos. Kost uses this project to lay out, in clear and consider-able detail, all the steps necessary to bring this project, or any other project, to fruition.The book is a soft cover tome of 231 pages (10 inches wide by 8 inches high). It is di-vided into six phases; Telling your photographic story, Making photographs, Organizing and editing your photos in Lightroom, Transforming your story in Lightroom’s Develop module, Post processing with Photoshop and Presenting your project. As you might surmise from these Phase titles, the author takes the reader first through a very in-formative lesson on project creation and development. Next, once the project has been defined and well documented, Kost lays out some information on taking the photos that are necessary for the project. That’s followed by two Phases detailing the options and steps necessary for the initial and subsequent processing of the photos in Lightroom. The subsequent Phase concerns post processing in Photoshop and, lastly, finally pre-paring your photos for whatever format you choose to present it.The foregoing seems like a lot of information is being thrust at the reader, and it is. However, the author keeps the presentation very readable and fairly well devoid of very technical mumbo jumbo. Of course, since this is a book on photography, you will come across some technical terms. The book is rated as Intermediate/ Advanced. Obviously, it is not for the beginner when it gets into the Lightroom/Photoshop processing. Howev-er, in the initial Phases the information provided is very appropriate for even the begin-ner. Where it is necessary to aid understanding, the author provides screen shots from Lightroom or Photoshop as appropriate. Generally, these shots are perfectly viewable for the reader. The text is well spaced so that it does not make reading uncomfortable.In short, all the information furnished in the book is couched in a language level that should be very understandable for most photographers. To me, the author has laid out a very cogent and easy to follow path to encourage any photographer to conceive, or-ganize and complete detailed photographic projects. Yes, the information presented is basic but this is the first book that I have seen that takes it from conception to comple-tion in such a logical and understandable fashion. As an amateur photographer, I have often thought of doing some sort of photographic project. This book will be at my side whenever that urge resurfaces. Also, I can now see that the path from conception to completion is much, much clearer for me. There is information here regarding the vari-ous phases of a project that never occurred to me. The project detail that is presented is considerable but very well laid out and understandable. I would urge every photogra-pher to examine this book. You may not be ready for a project right now, but you will know how to proceed when you are ready.

Julieanne Kost is the Principal Digital Imaging Evangelist for Adobe so you might think her books are a sales pitch for Adobe products. Thankfully that’s not what they are, at least not directly. Similar to her book Window Seat shot from an airplane, this book is based around a collection of her images shot while sitting in the passenger seat of a moving car. It is a description of how and why to do personal projects. The first Adobe product doesn’t appear for 129 pages which is over half the book.A personal project is something that you work on because you love it or are driven by it. It is a story you want to tell. In the first part of her book, Julieanne describes the importance of have multiple personal projects to keep ourselves interested in and learning about photography. This includes the risks and rewards to the photographer. She has great suggestions on how to think about beginning a project and how it can evolve over time. For me, this is the most useful part of the book.The center of the book is a portfolio of her images from the project. You may or may not like them depending on your taste. I find some of them to be very pleasing blurs and other not quite blurred enough.The last third of the book finally gets to Adobe products. It is not so much a tutorial but a tease of how she used the products for this project. She has many online tutorials and is a wonderful speaker if you want a deeper dive into her insights about Adobe products. As mentioned at the beginning, this is in no way a hard sale of Adobe products. Her goal is to show us ways to stay interest in shooting images and learning about photography. Of course, the more people are interested in good photography, the better it is for Adobe, and the better Adobe can be for photographers.
