I bought this book for my nephew. To make sure he would like it I read it to my son first to see what his thoughts were. He said he loved it because what four year old doesn’t love pirates. However, I wasn’t as impressed. We have Dinosaurs Love Underpants and I love that book. In this book I felt that the rhyming patterns were not as fluid and were harder to read. I got tongue twisted many times. I will still give this book to my nephew I was just not that impressed with it as I was with the Dinosaurs love Underpants book.
I really really wanted to love this one. My boys who are 3 and 4 enjoy it. I however am not sold. I loved Dinosaurs love underpants and liked aliens love underpants and thought for sure this would be the best yet, but it fell short. I think for me it was the fact that the wording didn't flow like it did in the other books, I think they could have done better with this one. I give it a 3.5 because my boys love everything pirate they still love this one.
Love the story! Read a million times and with the pirate voice. Best one of the series. Highly recommend
Pirates and underpants. Illustrations are fun, story is silly, in a good way. My 5 year old likes it.
We love this book! Super cute idea and presentation. The books rhymes and flows well. My 2.5 year old has it memorized from us reading it so much and will walk around the house reciting phrases from it! "What's the booty we love best? The glittering pants of gold!"
We received Dinosaurs Love Underpants for my daughters birthday and she loved that so much we bought Pirates Love Underpants. It didn't disappoint, my daughter loves this as well and it's become one of our staples during reading time. Plus, Ben Cort's illustrations are so vivid and fun.
