Excellent introduction book on Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013. I believe the description says it but it is written pre-release so some of the information in it is not accurate anymore with the release of LEO (Spring) and coming soon VEGA (Fall) things are changing as programs do. Still core concepts, best practices, and general functions have stayed the same.I was pretty familiar with CRM 4.0 and 2011 before reading this book but it explains things very well from the ground up. If you have a pretty good understanding of the CRM Basics this book takes you through the rest including administrative functions and integrating to other system such as Sharepoint. There are some other programs that integrate really nicely with CRM that were left out which was disappointing, such as Experlogix or Quote Works, but to cover all those is very hard.The author did a good job of explaining the differences from 2011 to 2013. I would have liked the author to have also spent some time explaining the modules in CRM Microsoft is not improving on and trying to get away from such as Reporting, Marketing (Dynamics Marketing coming online), etc. I think it may have been helpful to talk about how to do integrations into CRM with SSIS or Scribe possibly but that is a niche. Also more could have been covered about the Outlook Client which may have been covered better in a previous version. Notice I am being pretty picky, it is hard to offer improvements on this book.This book has helped me a lot and I keep it in my office for easy reference.

If you revel in Scatter brain ramblings this book is for you!WTF - How did the editors ever approve this book for publishing.There's no logical flow to the writing - it rambles.There's no overview to provide context, no general to specific organization.No context of "How to do.." or "Why this is.." or detailed explanation of each section of the software.It jumps all over the place with no rhyme or reason.It's like the author had a bunch of random notes and just typed them with no thought of organizing them or adding any depth.It's a waste of money and time.

Without question, this book has jumpstarted our application migration initiatives and we are well on our way to realizing the fullest benefits very quickly. I was doubtful at first that one book would be able to cover everything in the application, but this book managed to address everything we needed - My staff was so thankful for the books, and they have already shown me some prototypes for the new applications, all to the credit of this book. I would have preferred deeper dives in a few areas – additional examples of PBL’s or example, but we were able to figure it out with the examples shown.

I'm disappointed that this doesn't provide enough details in some subject areas (short paragraphs on the subject doesn't cut it) and hasn't really been all that helpful to me as a new administrator of Dynamics CRM 2013. I have found more helpful information specific to what I was looking for, on the web. Perhaps I was looking for something that this book is not. In any event, it hasn't been helpful enough to justify the cost. Just my opinion.

Very technical. Covers a lot. Over 1000 pages.

Just shoot yourself. It would be less painful and much quicker. Absolutely useless if you are seeking high level, conceptual thinking on best practices, etc.

This seems to be the gold standard in the field, and deservedly so. I've seen it selected as the book for almost every intro Informatics course I've been exposed to. I've read all but three chapters (13,15, and 21) of it and found that in general the chapters are quite strong. Because it is an edited volume the quality and style of the chapters are mixed. The chapters are, without exception, meticulously sourced making the references section a real gem. The questions at the end of the chapter wouldn't be close to adequate for a self study book (I'd say they are only slightly more than perfunctory).I think this book has two limitations: - Lacks any substantive cross chapter continuity (on the upside this means it can really be read in almost any order). - The chapter length to depth ratio is unfavorable. At an average of 40ish pages the chapters should really be able to get into real technical depth; instead, it seems to gloss over the technical details with repetitions of "gee whiz" platitudes.I think this book has one annoyance: - A lot of the contents (particularly in the first few chapters of the book) have an "in the future we'll all drive flying cars" feel that makes them more dated than the publication date would suggest.Bottom line: best-of-breed, recommended.

This book covers comprehensive topics in biomedical informatics and its applications. In particular, UNIT I (Recurrent themes in biomedical informatics) presents biomedical knowledge which are essential to computer professionals for effective system development. On the other hand, UNIT II (Biomedical informatics applications) provides useful illustrations of current information systems in the field. I reckon that the most interesting applications are Consumer Health Informatics and Telehealth; Imaging Systems in Radiology and Clinical Decision Support Systems.

I am using this book in a graduate level course and find it to be very complete in its discussion of this broad topic. The author, Shortliffe, is now President of the American Medical Informatics Association. If you purchase this book, you will be doing best to get just the textbook, and not the digital version, the so-called "Upgrade" to read online.The annotations features for highlighting and leaving bookmarks are almost always "temporarily unavailable". I was surprised to find out today that I had reached the "usage limit" on reading my book online, and was denied further access. That was a pretty big shock to me, as I had paid to be able to access the book when i did not want to carry around the rather heavy textbook.When you are locked out of the book, you are not given any method for rectifying this except to send an email to customer service.I won't be purchasing the digital media "Upgrades" to any more Amazon books.Despite that experience, you will be very happy you bought this if you have any interest in biomedical informatics. Note that this does focus on the "medical" side of biomedical informatics, and is not a bioinformatics primer.

In my opinion overly general information. No algorithms or methods of implementation, even at a high level or schematic. Got it as required reading for a course. 3rd edition is essentially same for real purposes. OK for getting some paper (degree) to advance a bureaucratic or other career, but not really for anything useful. Doesn't mean sales shouldn't be good with AHCA creating a new army of the aforementioned.

Great book. Easy to read and understand.

Great book that on the one hand is able to summarize most of the literature available today, but also explicitly mentions the way forward. Truly one book to summarize all and enabling you to setup and execute pricing in your own company or business

This book gives a concise but complete overview of pricing strategy (part 1) and analysis (part 2), which I haven't found elsewhere. I found the third and final part (execution) particularly useful from my own experience as publisher in large international media company. The book describes the pricing process and the requirement for a central coordinated pricing function in a clear and persuasive way. I think many decision makers in large companies will benefit from the book, because it shows the why, what and how of optimizing the organizational line-up for pricing.

Although strong with numbers but bad in mathematics, I was a sceptic about reading the book. Being a creative and marketeer I deal with pricing and value propositions all the time. I was positively surprised by the format. The clear illustrations, the model and short chapters and subchapters make it a good read for business people and creatives that do not want to wrestle through lengthy research like chapters. I think that pricing in itself is underrated in a lot of businessess and that this book can give you at least a good sense of what prices do for your sales strategy and how far you want to go as a company in honest but sharp pricing strategies. Why I personally do not give it a 5 star rating is because I would have liked some cases throughout the book with more visuals that would remind me more easily of successful or failing pricing methods or strategies.

This book has guided me in my thinking about setting prices and how to better understand price sensitivity. The book is complete, yet easy to read. It offers clear accessible examples from Audi, Apple, retailers, Google, LinkedIn and Facebook. I have already used several tricks to my advantage in my own business and earned back the small investment many times

This is the best book I have read about the adoption experience, and I have read many. Nicole is a brilliant writer, flowing in part from her extraordinary insight and honesty. Mostly, as an adoptee and parent of internationally adopted children, I felt grateful for how much she was able to communicate her experience in a way that will resonate for so many. Again, I cannot recommend this highly enough. It is a great read that will deeply move you.

I loved this true story and its brave and kind protagonist, Nikki. Her journey is harrowing. Chung's portrayals of her loving adoptive family and, later, the Korean family she was born to and given up by, are so arresting. Her search for her roots had me holding my breath for her. I couldn't put this book down. The 'cautionary tale' is in the fact of the town and environs of her upbringing. All white, a small (unnamed) place in which Nicole suffered needlessly for looking different. She wished for blond hair and blue eyes - to fit in without question. Yet to her intelligent, well-meaning, kind-hearted adoptive parents, race didn't exist. They loved their child madly and that was that. Note to prospective adoptive parents of nonwhite children: for heaven's sake, try to live in a diverse locale so your child can at least see other people that 'look like me.' A wonderful, satisfying, beautiful book that I'm recommending to many.

While I was excited to read about this situation, the tone felt somewhat whiny and self-indulgent. I understand that the unique adoptive situation would elicit strong emotions, but the author seemed preoccupied with self and failed to acknowledge in a sincere way sacrifices of caretakers. I've read other adoption memoirs. I just couldn't bring myself to feel anything for the reader's situation because her perspective felt egocentric.

Nothing I could write here could do justice to the elegance and clarity of the prose, to the flashes of her sarcasm and humor, or to the thoughtfulness that suffuses every bit of this book. It is an incredibly compelling story of family and connection, of choices and belief, of the path to finding the truth.

I liked it very much and I think it is something well worth reading That said, I would like to be able to be in touch with the author and have not found a way to do so The young lady seems very young and as they only child of the adoptive parents, she seems to think she can only choose one or two parents to love Plain fact is that The more parents you have the better, since you connect with them in different ways, just as you do with us or all your grandparents or cousins or friends. It’s wonderful that she has discovered a sister with whom she has so much in common and a father and stepmother so that she is part of that family I would suggest to her that she contact her first mother and other sister and listen to them as to human beings with their own stories and not just from what she feels she needs or from a judgemental point of view. Hopefully she figures this out before her mother is terribly ill or dies, because if she doesn’t do it her children certainly will and they will wonder why their mother Nicole didn’t do it. I care for her very much and wish her a wonderful future She needs to know it’s OK if she is not perfect and that doesn’t mean she took after bad traits from anybody – and by the way her mother is not perfect and that’s OK too. Nicole was so blessed to have adoptive parents and they to have her.

This book would more aptly be titled, "An Introduction to Powershell." I'm having to Google any sort of advanced use of functions which this book covers.For example, it covers multi dimensional arrays in a single page. A brief example of a multidimensional array with "hard coded" values is shown. The book does not show how to add or reference the values dynamically as almost everyone will need to do.Rinse and repeat for the various subjects. This book is good to get a beginner view on Powershell but it's definitely not for advanced use or "Mastering."

An excellent book to start with to understand and take your powershell scripting to the next level.

Very difficult reading. Absolutely not for the beginner. I never gave up on this type of book until now.

Great for entry level powershell users

I really enjoyed this book. full disclosure: - i was given a copy by the publisher to review, but i would happily have paid for it. i am a Microsoft trainer, and deliver the Microsoft 10961 "Automating Administration with Windows Powershell" course three or four times a year; this book makes an excellent supplement to that course, especially now Microsoft only give students the electronic skillpipe version of the training material. The book not only covers but expands on all the course material, providing in-depth explanations, tips and tricks and pointing out some of the pitfalls. There are also a number of chapters on subjects that are not covered in the course that have become more important in the last few years, such as working with REST, HTML and JSON calls, and testing using Pester. Add in an excellent introductory chapter to working with .NET and all the powershell regex i ever want to see, and the book is a winner. i am recommending it to my colleagues and students.if there was one thing that could be improved upon, it would be the examples. i would like to see more 'real-world' examples, using things an admin might do, rather than some of the simple ones that are given to demonstrate the syntax.other than that, i loved it. i'll be forking out for a paper copy i can put next to my first edition "powershell scripting and toolmaking" book.

For me, a lot of the suggestions are pretty boring and based more on romance than they are on sexual encounters (which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it could be for those who already have a great romantic aspect in their relationship and are looking to spice up their sex-life, not their romance).(added photos of some of the checks in this book)And I don't exactly like that the idea of a time-frame requirement is intertwined throughout the concept of these checks (I get that real checks have a "due date", but for sex checks to have a due date- it's kind of a turn off for me).There's also a random check allowing voyeurism, so I can imagine that strictly monogamous couples wouldn't really like that check.

Bought these as a little extra something for a wedding shower gift... it got great laughs..only one of the coupons was x-rated. The rest were all cute and/or funny.

These things are first and foremost, a riot just to read with your lover.Second; for the hilarity, kink, creativity, and function they inspire: They Are Cheap.Next, they actually function REALLY well because of how specific they are with so many option boxes to check, without being overly complicated.Lastly, there is no better feeling than writing these out or checking them in with your girlfriend (and she agrees 😉).
